# The DAO

### :sparkler: **DAO Principles and Governance** <a href="#sa0wq2h4rb2p" id="sa0wq2h4rb2p"></a>

Decision making over time will be pro-rated based on a participant’s ownership to the overall DAO through a Metaverse Exchange DAO token ownership. Tokens will represent voting rights in the DAO.&#x20;

**1. Day-to-day management:** :vulcan:

especially in the beginning of the DAO there will be a high and fast-paced complexity requiring quick decision making. Accordingly, these decisions will be assigned to the management team and include things such as monthly budgeting, hiring, investments, partnership selection, initial token pricing.

**2. Strategic priorities:** :satellite\_orbital:

over time we will need to decide on strategic priorities such as which direction the DAO should take. Should we launch new revenue streams? Should we terminate certain partnerships if they overlap with our own interests? Should we launch our own chain? How should we cooperate with bigger gaming studios and align with their blockchain strategies? These decisions will be decided with a super majority of 85% of circulating tokens.

**3. Financial decisions** :classical\_building:

Major financial investments will also be decided with a super majority of 85% of circulating tokens. Examples can be scholarship principles, i.e. at what terms (e.g. interest, payment, duration) should scholarships be given to players? What should be the maximum amount assigned to scholarships? Also, how much ingame assets should the treasury keep in USD terms? Should assets be items or currencies at what ratio? As we cooperate with and integrate 3rd party crypto currencies, token swaps with these partners will also be relevant to our DAO, requiring constant management of the demand and supply of our token.

**4. Token circulation** :coin:

The Metaverse Exchange DAO is allowing trading of existing virtual assets and currencies that have existing market-prices. These market-prices can be verified already today on standard gaming exchanges such as Player Auction, El Dorado, Itembay and the likes. However, we expect the MXDT token to not correlate to those prices in real-time. Due to market volatility we expect the token price to sometimes deviate from the stored value of our assets. If this happens, burning and minting of tokens will become necessary to ensure the adequate value of the token in the market. These burning and minting decisions will be made with a super majority of 75%.

**5. Awards** :trophy:

A special decision-making area are the incentives we will give out to increase our market visibility. Our MXDT tokens will be given to ambassadors who promote our brand and platform in their social-media channels, gaming guilds and other brand-raising channels. We will also allow for regular airdrops depending on the strategic focus of the DAO, e.g. regional focus, game- or game-category specific focus.&#x20;

### :chart\_with\_upwards\_trend: **DAO Value Generation**

Many blockchain projects have great financial benefits, but oftentimes they suffer from lack of underlying value. We believe it is important to have an underlying value-driver and not only focus on financial leverage. Therefore the Metaverse Exchange DAO will generate value from the following sources:

* Increase in trading volume :ballot\_box\_with\_check:
* Appreciation in the value of sustainable digital assets acquired and owned by the DAO. :ballot\_box\_with\_check:
* Overall community growth and close cooperation with gaming guilds :ballot\_box\_with\_check:
* Yield generation through DAO scholarship operations :ballot\_box\_with\_check:
* Treasury: high-value items will be lent out to players and later on sold off to bidders. :ballot\_box\_with\_check:

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://ocean-wave-tkn.gitbook.io/whitepaper-the-metaverse-exchange-dao/the-dao.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
