# Tokenomics
### :scales: **Asset-backed tokens**
Many tokens suffer from a lack of underlying assets. They provide great value, but only as long as there is an overall belief in its ground principles. This can be anything like collecting website impressions, providing financial technology for token trading, serving as a major FIAT-backed stablecoin or getting paid for certain ingame activities.
However, our underlying asset of the token has existing market-prices on various game item exchanges. As we can track these transactions and their prices, our token will always be supported by the underlying assets of our gamers.
:point\_up: It is therefore the key task of the treasury to ensure that the right prices of the token are reflected during its trading.
:point\_up: Even if a bank-run happened and token holders would dump their MXDT tokens, the DAO will have its underlying assets in the treasury, implying that any outstanding currency supply will always have the backing of these assets.
### :earth\_asia: **Forex principles applied to the Game Trade**
The treasury will be driven by managing the supply and demand in combination with the ingame assets and currencies held by the DAO, while making sure inflation does not affect the overall price-lines. This means that during increased sell-off the DAO will take the role of reducing supply based on the overall exchange rate and market prices of the major ingame items and currencies held. **Principles of foreign exchange and currency trading will be applied during this task.**:ballot\_box\_with\_check:
Another key task of the treasury will be to manage yield payments and asset value of the scholarships. As scholarships will be virtual items that have their own market prices the treasury will be tracking the value of the items and the yields gained for the DAO. **Principles of risk-management in banking and lending operations will be applied during this task.**:ballot\_box\_with\_check:
In general, the treasury will hold 15% of the total $MXDT tokens. Goal of the treasury is to manage and grow the value of Metaverse Exchange DAO assets. The treasury funds will be utilized in a responsible manner for the benefit of DAO which would pass on value generated by DAO activities back to $MXDT holders. **The treasury will be managed by a multi-signature wallet.** :ballot\_box\_with\_check:
