# The Vision
### :joystick: **Background:**
Games have been around for decades, while metaverse games, NFT games or any blockchain-based games are comparatively new. Even though there are some experiments with blockchain technology among game developers, there is still a gap between the new Web3 and Web2 games.
As some Web2 players have played their games for decades, their inventories are often highly valuable, but difficult to convert into money. It is also often not allowed to trade ingame items or sell currencies against money (FIAT).
Existing item exchanges have various limitations that can be eliminated via blockchain-based technologies. However, so far these exchanges are usually limited to local markets and do not offer any connection to blockchain games, NFTs or crypto currencies.
It is our firm belief that the current metaverse approaches are suffering from a lack of world integrations, proprietary software platforms and an inability to seamlessly play across these metaverse platforms. Only through a seamless integration of Web2 and Web3 can a holistic metaverse evolve.
### :tada: **Our vision: game financing for Web2 & Web3 combined**
The Metaverse Exchange DAO (“MXD”) is a new blockchain-based game financing DAO.
We want to become "the Ebay and Paypal of global game item-trading". We want to be the leading platform and crypto currency in the metaverse for online players to manage their ingame assets across all games, communities and platforms.
To do this we want to change the economic incentives by providing better game financing through new financial liquidity through our token "MXDT".

:dart: We provide financial support to gamers via scholarships and item-lending.
